Terms of Use

Last updated: 27 October 2026

The short version: Niko is free. Use it kindly and legally. It's an AI, so it can make mistakes: check anything important before you rely on it. Niko asks before doing risky things, but you're in charge of your own laptop. Your privacy is covered in our Privacy Policy.

1. Who we are

Niko AI ("Niko", "we", "us") is a voice assistant for Windows laptops, made by Hetansh Haria. The website nikoai.in, the Niko app and the waitlist are run by Krutika Pratik Haria (Hetansh's parent), Ahmedabad, India. You can reach us at hello@nikoai.in.

2. Agreeing to these terms

By using the website, joining the waitlist or using the Niko app, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use Niko. If you're under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you.

3. What Niko is (and isn't)

4. Your laptop, your choices

5. Using Niko kindly and legally

Please don't use Niko or our website to:

If someone breaks these rules, we may block their access.

6. Niko Pro (when it launches)

Niko Pro, an optional paid plan with extra-smart answers, isn't available yet. When it launches, its price, payment, cancellation and refund rules will be shown clearly before you pay, and these terms will be updated. Pro licence keys are for you (up to 2 of your own laptops) and must not be shared or sold.

7. Third-party services

Some features open or use other services, such as WhatsApp, Google Calendar, YouTube, websites you ask about, and (for Niko Pro) Anthropic's Claude AI. Those services have their own terms and privacy rules, and we're not responsible for them.

8. Ownership

The Niko name, logo, orb design, app and website belong to us. You may share links to nikoai.in and talk about Niko freely. Please don't copy our design or present Niko as your own product. What you create with Niko (your notes, documents and messages) belongs to you.

9. No guarantees

Niko is provided free and "as is". We do our best to make it useful, safe and available, but we can't promise it will always work, be error-free or suit your needs. This doesn't take away any rights you have under Indian consumer law that can't be excluded.

10. Limit of our responsibility

As far as the law allows, we aren't responsible for indirect losses (like lost data, lost time or lost profit) from using Niko. For the free version, our total responsibility to you is limited to ₹1,000. Nothing here limits responsibility that the law doesn't allow us to limit.

11. Stopping

You can stop using Niko any time: uninstall the app, and unsubscribe from emails using the link in any email. We may stop offering Niko, or a feature, with reasonable notice where we can.

12. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top. For big changes, we'll also tell waitlist members by email before they take effect.

13. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. If there's a problem, please email hello@nikoai.in first and we'll do our best to sort it out quickly and kindly. If we really can't agree, the courts of Ahmedabad, Gujarat will decide.
