Niko is built so anyone can use a laptop by talking to it, including people who find a keyboard, a mouse or small text hard. If something on nikoai.in or in the Niko app gets in your way, tell us at hello@nikoai.in and we'll fix it.
Keyboard: every link, button and form works with the keyboard, and the item you're on is outlined.
Readable: light text on a dark background with strong contrast, text that grows with your browser zoom, and layouts that work on phones.
Screen readers: the page language is set, form fields have labels, and decorative animations are hidden from screen readers.
Less motion: if your device is set to reduce motion, the animated orb and demo stay still.
No time limits and nothing that flashes.
The Niko app
Hands-free: say "Hey Niko" and control apps, volume, files, messages and more without a keyboard or mouse. Follow-up questions don't need "Hey Niko" again.
Talk instead of type: dictation types what you say into any app.
Hear or read every answer: Niko speaks its replies and also shows them as text under the orb. During meetings, replies appear as text only.
Your language: Niko understands many languages and replies in 33.
Other ways in: hold a key (Ctrl+Space by default, changeable in Settings), hold the orb with the mouse, or use type mode if you can't or don't want to speak.
Safe by default: Niko asks before risky actions like sending a message, moving files or shutting down.
Known limitations
The demo video on the home page has no captions yet. We're adding them.
Niko's windows (the orb, Settings, the welcome screen) haven't been fully tested with screen readers like NVDA and Narrator yet.
Speech recognition can mishear strong accents, fast speech or noisy rooms. Type mode always works as a backup.
Niko's voice reply speed can't be changed yet.
